Built / Engaged With #2

I write this as I finish the most challenging work sprint of the year.

Black Friday, Cyber Monday, Christmas and the holidays.

When I started SOLO MEDIA GROUP 7 years ago, I had a simple goal of building a company to help me sustain remote work for myself and any employee crazy enough to want to join me.

That dream is/was too small to fit all the ambitions of myself and the incredible people on the team. This year, I noticed that and decided to dream much bigger.

Today, the mission is to build the best technical Shopify Agency in the Americas, giving anyone who works with SOLO MEDIA GROUP a chance to make an incredible career with us or in the e-commerce world.

Reflecting on 2024, here is a quick highlight reel.

  1. We have 130+ Shopify Merchants we’ve directly worked

  2. Solo Media Group grew 46% over last year.

  3. Our client list has generated over $500 Million in Shopify Sales.

So, how do we get to that crazy goal of being the best in the world?

Step 1 Partnerships

Building

We’ve been working on strengthening partnerships across the Shopify / E-commerce ecosystem. (Shout out to all the partner managers who believe in me and our team; we will not disappoint!)

For 4 years, SOLO MEDIA GROUP has been fighting trying to become a certified ‘‘Shopify Partner’’ https://www.shopify.com/partners/directory

I’m happy to say we met last week with our assigned dedicated partner rep.

We are an official ‘‘Shopify Plus Partner’’.

Our Shopify partner rep, Nassim, and I will work on some growth plans together in the upcoming months.

I'm not sure if he was Bull*hitting, but he mentioned internally they flagged our agency as one with growth potential this year.

All I can say is somebody flagged it correctly- we’re coming for that top tier.

Engaged With

I listened to the https://www.inevitable.live/ from J. Cole.
The content itself is very inspiring.

With an underlying message of ‘‘be yourself and never give up on your dreams.’’

However, what I found most interesting is how this audio series doubles as a marketing tool for J. Coles's new album and to reconnect with his fan base.

Connecting / building / communicating with ‘‘your audience’’ seems more important than ever.

Attention on TikTok, Instagram, and other social media is fleeting for artists, brands, and businesses.

It made me wonder how we all, as ‘‘normal people’’ can connect with our direct audiences.

I’ve concluded that an “audience’’ is not just for famous people or influencers.

We all have an ‘‘audience’’.

People we do business with. Friends you don’t communicate with daily but want to see how you're doing. Friends/colleagues you’ve met at conferences or old jobs.

I’ll close with one last thought on this.

We all have interesting lives and stories, how do we connect with our ‘‘audience’’?

Thank you for reading, and see you all on the next one.
